I'm originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan where I lived with my mom, dad, and many pets. I attended Michigan State University and graduated in 2005 with an art history degree. After graduation, I lived in Nashville, TN and worked at various art museums. In 2007, I decided to return to school and pursue my elementary education degree at Western Michigan University.
Before coming to Mattawan, I taught in both Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo Public School Districts. I have worked at Mattawan for the past eight years, in the middle school as well as the early el, and coached cross country for the past 6 years. I have enjoyed every second and treasure the memories I've made with my fantastic students!
I am an only child and enjoy traveling, movies, arts & crafts, reading, being outdoors, running, technology, photography and spending time with my family and friends (and my cats, Charley & Jack). I'm so excited to be teaching 7th grade Language Arts and look forward to having a wonderful year with your child!
